Industry’s First Centralized AI Platform Pioneers a Collaborative Knowledge Sharing Fab Model

Originally aired on Tuesday, July 21, 2020

Overview:

More tools, more sensors and overload of data.  Similarly, more complex technical issues are creating longer analysis time. All of these issues coincide with an aging workforce, tribal knowledge and a highly siloed manufacturing organization to create bigger headaches ahead for semiconductor manufacturers.

Today, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) we have been able to address some of these issues. The proliferation of AI, Cloud, and Edge computing technologies has helped to usher in new smart manufacturing applications like real-time FDC on the cloud, AI trace analytics, Remaining Useful Life Prediction (RUL) and Product Yield Prediction. These applications are improving fab efficiency and they have become far more prevalent in smart manufacturing fab operations.  However, these improvements are often limited to an individual task, equipment or processes.

AI Self-Learning, Self-Diagnostics, Self-Optimization, Self-Correction
Now, though, BISTel is building on these core technologies and smart applications to enable the next step in smart manufacturing. That is, a more system-wide approach that leverages AI to further improve the way we work inside the fab, across fabs and geographies.  New self-learning, self-diagnostics, self-optimization and self-correction applications discover, learn and act autonomously. Welcome to the Smart Decision Support System, a new empowering tool coming to engineers soon.

This special SEMICON West webcast presentation offers semiconductor manufacturing engineers a preview of BISTel’s  AI powered Decision Support System (DSS).  DSS introduces the concept of a centralized AI platform to enable collaboration between different manufacturing applications. It captures, manages, and distributes knowledge from these applications to empower engineers and users across fabs and in the sub fab floor with recommendations, new insights, and analysis to make the best decisions possible.

Welcome to the fab of the future, today.

BISTel is the world’s leading supplier of engineering equipment systems (EES) and manufacturing A.I. applications that deliver intelligence and insights inside the fab, sub fab floor and across the entire manufacturing ecosystem.  It’s fault detection, root cause analysis and predictive analytics solutions empower engineers with the tools they need to make smarter decisions. This enables yield improvement, increased engineering productivity, and substantial cost savings as well as an overall improvement in manufacturing effectiveness. Now, through a new AI based decision support system (DSS), BISTel is pioneering a collaboration between different manufacturing applications to capture, manage, and distribute knowledge from these applications to empower engineers still further breaking down barriers to yielding new insights, and analysis to make smarter decisions.
