The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), representing U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing, design, and research, released the following statement from SIA president & CEO John Neuffer regarding the “phase one” U.S.-China trade deal announced today.
“We welcome the ‘phase one’ trade agreement reached today, which provides needed relief for the semiconductor industry by reducing uncertainty, easing some harmful tariffs, and not adding more. We urge both sides to avoid further escalations that could undo this progress and instead use today’s agreement as a springboard to a more comprehensive deal that more effectively protects intellectual property and stops market-distorting government subsidies.”
