Acquisition of Solid State Technology Domain, Contents

I’m delighted to announce that we have successfully acquired the internet domains and content associated with Solid State Technology magazine. We are now working on integrating the well-known electroiq.com and solid-state. com domains into the semiconductor-digest.com family. The content from the site will be easily accessible to our readers and through internet searches.

In addition to 30+ years of archived Solid State Technology magazines and the annual Resource Guide, this treasure trove of content includes back issues of Advanced Packaging, Small Times, Microlithography World, WaferNEWS and Clean Rooms magazine. You’ll also find a vast amount of content that was “only” on-line, including Web Exclusive features, news, market research reports, as well as links to archived Solid State Technology webcasts and videos.

The collection embodies a massive amount of work by staff writers and technical contributors over the last 30 years – look ma, I’m published! – and Kerry Hoffman and I are delighted to make these valuable technical treasures available to our readers.

I’m also happy to report that Semiconductor Digest, which we officially launched in June of this year, is already profitable. Given that most start-ups lose money in their first year, this is notable and we give a hearty thanks to our advertisers (and readers) who made it possible. The Solid State Technology acquisition further solidifies Semiconductor Digest’s standing as the “go to” business-to-business publication in the semiconductor arena.

In addition to the recent acquisition, we are announcing our Editorial Calendar for 2020. As detailed in the 2020 Media Planner (found under the “Advertise” tab on our homepage),  in January/February look for our 2020 Forecast and reports on Sub-5nm Devices, Lithography and 3D Integration. March will focus on Neuromorphic Computing/AI; Chemicals, Materials and Gases; Metrology; and Modeling and Simulation. April/May: Devices for RF, 5G, THz and mm-wave, Flexible Displays, Reliability and Wafer Processing. June: Semicon West Preview, Interconnection Technologies, Chemicals, Materials and Gases, and Fan-out Wafer Level Packaging.

July: Semicon West Show, Design Automation Conference, AI’s Role in Smart Manufacturing; Inspection, Measurement and Test; and Memory Technology. August/September: Yield Management Tools; Bioelectronics and Medical Appli- cations; Sensors, MEMS and Bioelectronics; and Heteroge- neous Integration. October: Printed Electronics; Design for Manufacturing; Optoelectronics, Displays and Imagers; and Quantum Computing Devices. November/December: 2021 Forecast, Emerging Device and Compute Technology, Wafer Processing, and Advances in Transistor Design.

As always, feel free to get in touch with me about editorial contributions or Kerry Hoffman regarding advertising and sponsorships. I hope you had a great 2019 and we’re looking forward to a fantastic 2020!
