French Semiconductor Ecosystem: Design House IC’Alps Raises €4.2 Million To Sustain Business Growth For Custom Chip Design

Acting on General Shareholders Meeting, semiconductor company IC’Alps announced today it has raised €4.2 Million from French industrial group DOLIAM.

Acting on General Shareholders Meeting, semiconductor company IC’Alps announced today it has raised €4.2 Million from French industrial group DOLIAM. Headquartered in France, IC’Alps specializes in the design and supply of exclusive and custom-made ASIC solutions (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits). This funding round will allow the company to consolidate its equity and invest in recruitment. The company’s ambition is to become a European leader in the design and supply of ASICs.

An ASIC is a type of electronic circuit that integrates, on a single chip, all the functions required for an application. For example, an ASIC can integrate custom sensor interfaces to collect data, processors to analyze this information locally, or a communication module for data transfer to an external device. “The ASIC technology allows our clients to make their products stand out through miniaturization, new functionalities, better performance, increased energy efficiency and improved safety and security of electronic subsystems,” commented Jean-Luc Triouleyre, President of IC’Alps. “The growing demand for ASIC design and supply is driven by the strong growth of the smart MedTech market, the digitization of solutions for the automotive and industrial sectors, and the Internet of Things”.
