    3-D printing based on the alternating (most simple) structure proposed will likely allow for reliable and inexpensive polymer solar cells.

    This could lead to “phototronic” circuits – as opposed to “electronic” circuits.

    That would mean the chip size relative to processor capacity would be markedly smaller: a good thing.
