Great to read about those high speed transistors, what a development has been made!

Interesting, two years ago we were set to give credit to the engineers we thought invented the LED in its 50th birthday. Now instead we recognize the inventor and his work, Oleg Vladimirovich Losev who discovered faint light from diodes in radios in the 1900’s. He had an idea that preceded fiber optic transmissions long before this process became practical, and even filled a patent. He passed away in 1942.
